The Unilever refilling station, or All Things Hair Refillery, is exactly what the Philippines needs right now to combat its plastic waste problem.

Single-use plastic is one of the most pressing environmental issues that we face today, especially in Southeast Asia. The Philippines, in particular, is one of the biggest plastic polluters in the world, thanks to the low cost of plastic sachets and an inefficient waste disposal system. But thankfully, big companies are starting to do something about it, with initiatives like the new Unilever refilling station. Scroll on to learn more about this awesome popup!

What Is The Unilever Refilling Station And Where Can I Find It?

Unilever will soon let consumers refill their old shampoo and conditioner bottles at their refilling stations in select locations. Called the All Things Hair Refillery, the station lets you reuse old bottles instead of simply throwing them away and adding to the plastic waste problem.

All you have to do is bring your old bottles to the Unilever refilling station and fill them up with your desired product from the product pumps. Then, you pay for the product based on the weight of your refill.

Not only will the Unilever refilling station let you reduce waste, it’s also a great way to save money. Because you won’t have to pay for packaging, purchasing shampoo and conditioner this way is cheaper than buying a bottle off the shelf.

And if you don’t have any old bottles on you, you can buy a refillable bottle for only PHP10, and your total will still come out cheaper than what you would’ve spent if you’d have bought a bottle at traditional stores.

If you’ve got other plastic bottles lying around your house, you can also bring them to the station to be upcycled.

The All Things Hair Refillery stations will be in TriNoma, Glorietta, and Alabang Town Center from March 23 to April 14, 2019. Though the All Things Hair Refillery is a temporary pop-up at the moment, we hope this’ll start a trend and change the way we purchase our personal care products for good.
