Sneakers designed by pop stars are the latest sensation to hit the fashion markets. And the newest addition to the list is making us jump with excitement!
For K-pop fans, music is not the only factor that connects them to their favourite singers. Their fashion is equally influential. And it was only a matter of time that brands approached K-pop stars to share their style through products that are accessible to their fans.
It is pretty much exactly what seven K-pop stars, including members of Girls’ Generation and EXO are now doing with local Singaporean brand Ysneakers. The famous singers have collaborated with the brand for a limited edition capsule of luxury sneakers. This is a tie-up with Astell & Aspr, the digital lifestyle brand of the Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment.
Sneakers Designed By Pop Stars Will Come With A Surprise!
Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri and Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation and Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin of EXO (EXO-CBX) have reportedly each designed two pairs of special sneakers. These include a low-top and a high-top version for the brand.
This collector's item special also comes with limited edition gifts. Yes, you read that right!

As per the official announcement by Ysneakers, customers who purchase the Girls’ Generation's design will also get an exclusive photo card of the artiste who created the shoe.
As for those who purchase sneakers designed by EXO members, they will get a photo reel of the behind-the-scene designing process. In addition, these lucky buyers will also receive an exclusive wooden shoe tree as well as a warrant card printed the artists' autograph.

Sneakers Designed By Pop Stars Are Having A Moment
Interestingly, EXO and Girls' Generation are not the only bands that are collaborating to design sneakers. It seems that K-pop stars are having a moment with sneakers.
South Korea's most popular boy band BTS came onboard sports brand Puma as their global ambassadors. But they soon turned collaborators for a special collection. The new collection was a remix of the classic Puma Turin and the brand's sportswear basics. And, similar to their previous ‘Puma x BTS Court Star’ collab, the apparel featured feature the BTS’ Love Yourself logo along with a few pieces also featuring the group’s debut date–20130613 (June 13th, 2013).
The South Korean/Chinese boy band EXO also had another sneaker collaboration back in 2016. The band teamed up with sneaker brand Sketchers for a collection called Sketchers D’Lites 2 line.
3. Jay Park
If you love listening to Korean R&B, you've probably heard of rapper Jay Park. His is one of the hottest names in the American and Korean R&B industry. Park collaborated with Nike Korea’s “Impossible to Ignore” campaign for his music video Run In.
Dean is one of South Korea’s biggest R&B artists. But he's popular on the other side of the world as well, thanks to his collaborations with American artists including Eric Bellinger, Syd and Mila J. He recently collaborated with Puma, for his music video titled Run The Streets.
5. DPR Live
The final South Korean sensation to make waves in the fashion market was DPR Live. An up-and-coming R&B artist from South Korea--who performed at the 2018 SXSW showcase--has had multiple collaborations with South Korea’s biggest artists including Jay Park and Dean. But his recent fashion collaboration made the most noise when he team up with Nike for his music video titled Just Dream It.
