The star-studded cast literally shut down the SAG Awards red carpet after coming out in full force and in all metallics
The 25th SAG Awards red carpet was nothing short of spectacular. Welcoming a star-studded crowd, it featured some of the most glamorous looks, fabulously crazy rich reunions, and big wins for diversity.
Among those who stole the limelight at the famed red...silver carpet was the cast of Crazy Rich Asians. They literally shut it down after coming out in full force and in all metallics.
From sparkling silvers to reflecting gold, and to bejeweled bodycons, there was something for everybody.
Crazy Rich Asians Shut Down The SAG Awards Red Carpet
Kicking off the SAG Awards red carpet at at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, Los Angeles, California, US, on Sunday, was matriarch of the film, Michelle Yeoh.
1. Michelle Yeoh
Dressed in a gorgeous haute couture gown from Elie Saab, Yeoh looked every bit the breathtaking and fierce woman she plays in the movie. Her dress had a bejewelled bodice that flared out at the bottom and was covered in feathers.
Believe it or not, but the actor was casually flaunting her own jewels and even wore her very own Richard Mille watch. Which by the way starts from anything between S$2,000 and S$3,000. Yeoh has been a long standing friend of the brand and even designed the luxury Swiss watch brand's RM 051 watch.
2. Constance Wu
Leading lady, Constance Wu, yet again proved why she is the queen of red carpets. Dressed impeccably in an Oscar de la Renta silver strapless gown with Harry Winston diamonds to complete her look, Wu was anything but perfection.
Not to forget, her Stuart Wiseman heels also stole the limelight. We bet even Eleanor Young would have approved this outfit.
3. Gemma Chan
The gorgeous Gemma Chan aka Astrid Young once again broke the Internet with her breathtaking baby pink Oscar de la Renta gown. The single shoulder gown with a long train and flower frills all over the bottom, quickly became a hot favourite among fashion critics.
She paired it with black heels and a black belt, elevating the outfit to a more modern princess look. Her simple makeup and an elegant hairstyle courtesy of Dove dry shampoo added to her subtle look.
The rapper-singer who was also nominated with the entire cast of Crazy Rich Asians for their ensemble wore a Mimi Plange red gown. She paired her gorgeous outfit with a red clutch a bright red lip.
And might we add, her dresses' torso style looks similar to Meghan Markle's outfit from her first visit with the Queen. We love her sleek straight hair and metallic eyes.
5. Henry Golding
And finally, you cannot not talk about Henry Golding while mentioning Crazy Rich Asians. Donning a gold jacquard Atticus cocktail jacket from Tom Ford, the leading star of the movie looked every bit the suave and stylish millionaire he plays on screen.
Golding brought his own version of swag on the silver carpet and needless to say, had the girls swooning over him. The British-Malaysian actor also bagged a nomination along with the entire star cast of the movie.
While the fans went crazy over the Crazy Rich Asians' red carpet appearance, there were a few others who stole the show and are worth mentioning.
Other Stars Who Shone At The SAG Awards Red Carpet
1. Lady Gaga
Nominated and lauded for her riveting performance in A Star In Born, Lady Gaga once again came to conquer. Dressed in a white Dior couture gown, Gaga looked every bit the star she is.
2. Emily Blunt
The talented Emily Blunt who was nominated for her role in A Quiet Place (and won!), looked breathtaking in this gorgeous Michael Kors Collection dress. She had her handsome husband John Krasinski for arm candy. Love!
3. Sandra Oh
Oh, not only is a talented actress, but also mega babe when it comes to her red carper appearances. She looked breathtaking in her gorgeous one-shoulder custom Jenny Packham floor-length gown. We especially love how she rocked her natural curls.
4. Liputa Nyongo
The Wakanda family had a big win at the SAG Awards. Not only did they rock the red carpet like its nobody's business. But they also won a bunch of awards, prominently for their cast and stunt performer ensemble. Nyongo for instance, looked breathtaking in her custom Vera Vang gown and corn rows.
As Vang stated in her Instagram post, "black wool off the shoulder bustier inspired jacket with trapunto stitching mixed with classic tailoring details worn with beaded sheer column skirt created from 32,000 hand sewn smoke colored crystals." WOW!
Post the cast's win leading man, Chandwick Boseman put their feelings into perspective on stage. He said, "We knew that we could create a world that exemplified a world we wanted to see. We knew that we had something to give."
5. Mandy Moore
The This Is Us cast won the SAG Awards for the outstanding ensemble cast in a drama series. The actor wore a custom Jason Wu gown and looked breathtaking.
Her sleeked back hair and her moon and stones earrings completed her look, which we are living for! She was certainly one of the best dressed actors on the SAG Awards red carpet.
