Noah Centineo And Camila Mendes Are Starring In A New Netflix Romcom Together, And We're Totally Here For It
Looks like Netflix figured that there's no such thing as too much Noah Centineo.
The Netflix gods heard our thirst for Noah Centineo, and boy oh boy, are they delivering. After To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, they’ve given us Sierra Burgess is a Loser, and now, Noah’s teaming up with Riverdale star Camila Mendes in a brand new romcom. Read on to learn more about the new Noah Centineo and Camila Mendes movie.
Here’s a first look at the flick.
In The Perfect Date, Noah’s character Brooks Rattigan gets paid to become a boyfriend-for-hire, playing a different character every night.
Here’s the movie’s plot, as detailed from Netflix’s release:
To raise funds for college, Brooks Rattigan (Noah Centineo) creates a dating app where he’ll “stand in” for non-existent boyfriends. But playing a different character every night of the week leads him to question who he really is … and who he wants to be with.
All these fake relationships seem to be par for the course for Noah, whose character in Pete Kavinsky in To All the Boys signed a contract with Lara Jean Covey to pose as each other’s significant others. And in Sierra Burgess is a Loser, Noah played a guy who was catfished by the movie’s titular character. We’re seeing a theme here…
Tangent: Noah reportedly made a contract with To All the Boys costar Lana Condor to not date each other. On The Tonight Show, Lana said that she and Noah felt a spark, but had to set boundaries. She said:
“I did [set early boundaries with Noah.] We had just come back from a hot yoga class and went to his apartment, and we ordered pizza, and it’s kind of like, ‘ooh, hot yoga, pizza, what’s happening?’ It was right before we shot the movie, just getting to know each other.
“And I felt something. And then so we went like this, and I looked at him and I went, ‘Noah, it’s not going to happen between us.’ Yeah, because I felt, for the show to do well, we had to be best-friend professionals. And so I was like, ‘it’s just not going to happen.’
“And he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s not going to happen.’ And I was like, ‘Great!’ So we kind of did what we did in To All the Boys the movie, we kind of made a contract and set boundaries and then I’m so happy that we did that because the movie turned out great and now we’re doing a sequel. So I have to work with him again so imagine!”
Who’ll he pick? We’ll have to wait for the movie to drop to find out.
Although no official release date for the Noah Centineo and Camila Mendes movie has been announced, Laura wrote in a caption, “See you guys in the summer,” so we’re probably getting our hands on this baby anywhere between June and August of this year.
