Meghan Markle Makes A Sneaky Public Appearance For The Sake Of Fashion

Meghan Markle royal fashion took centrestage when she surprised her wedding designer with a special award at the British Fashion Awards

Meghan Markle, the newly-minted Duchess of Sussex is not new to fashion. As an actress, she worked with many fashion big-wigs and served major looks each time she's stepped out. So it was only natural for her to shine as one of the most fashionable royals when she joined the firm, making Meghan Markle royal fashion truly an obsession.

Last night was no exception. The duchess made a surprise visit to the British Fashion Awards in London to present Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy the award for the British Womenswear Designer of The Year.

Keller also famously designed Markle's wedding dress back in May.

It's All About Empowering Women, Said Markle

"As all of you in the room know, we have a deep connection to what we wear, sometimes it's very personal and sometimes it's emotional. But for me, this connection is rooted in, really, being able to understand that it's about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women," she added.

Talking about designers and their visions, Markle further added, "We’re not just a reflection of their creativity and their vision, but we’re also an extension of their values. Of something, in the fabrics so to speaking of something much mire meaningful."

"I recently read an article that said, the culture of fashion has shifted from one where it was cool to be cruel to now where it is cool to be kind (sic)," she said.

Who can ever forget the gorgeous and simple boat neck wedding dress that Keller designer for Markle. The former Suits actress looked like a vision in white as she walked down the aisle to marry her prince.

The now Duchess also wanted to incorporate the 53 countries of the Commonwealth in her dress and so flowers from each of the countries were embroidered into her veil.

As Kensington Palace described it, "Ms. Markle expressed the wish of having all 53 countries of the Commonwealth with her on her journey through the ceremony. Ms. Waight Keller designed a veil representing the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition."

TBH, the Meghan Markle royal fashion obsession really began with this iconic dress.

Meghan Markle royal fashion was put on full display when she showed off her second Givenchy collaboration with this gorgeous custom made Givenchy Haute Couture outfit and a Cross3 bag, designed by Clare Waight Keller, for her first official day of engagements with The Queen.

This dress was the perfect outfit for an outing with the queen given that it complimented the newly-married (at the time) gorgeous complexion and of course her slender figure.
