Jameela Jamil Is Calling Out Celebrities For Their Detox Tea Lies!
The star carried out her own version of a Jameela Jamil interview and took a stab at celebrities for endorsing “flat tummy teas” as a cure for fat
The Good Place actor Jameela Jamil is calling out celebrities for endorsing detoxifying teas. During the thanksgiving weekend, the star carried out her own version of a Jameela Jamil interview. She took a brutal stab at celebrities who have been endorsing “flat tummy teas” as a cure for fat.
She shared her angst at the promotions and social media endorsements in a Twitter rant that has now started a social media war.
Jameela Jamil Called Out Cardi B And The Kardashians For ‘Shamming’ Following
During her hilarious Twitter outburst she said she hoped that “they all s*hit in their pants.” Her jibe was especially targetted to the likes of Kardashians, Cardi B, and even Iggy Azalea.
If you recall, these are the posts these celebrities usually post (below).
Pointing at these examples, she went on to explain why these “detox teas” are nothing but sham.
In a powerful response to these videos and photographs Jamil shared that these teas would lead to such celebrities s*itting in their pants. A specific reference to rapper Cardi B.
She even called out BuzzFeed for trying to get a response from Cardi B about her ‘favourite’ detox teas and tweeted out her version of what that conversation may have looked like.
She even shared a long note on how weight loss actually works. And even shared how majority of these teas are not even FDA approved.
She even called out the celebrities asking them for discount codes to their nutritionists, personal chefs, trainers and plastic surgeons.
In her own version of the Jameela Jamil interview, the actor then shared her own struggles with weight loss. She revealed some emotional details about her personal struggle.
Twitter War Ensues Between Jamil And Cardi B
While Jamil was busy sharing her personal story of struggle, her tweets reached Teami Blends tea spokeswoman Cardi B. And naturally, what ensued was a display of a dirt battle between the two. Check out Cardi’s response.
But Jamil wasn’t going to take this lying down. She responded to Cardi B’s tweet with a stern message for the rapper. She even shared how the rapper doesn’t even remember the name of the product she so readily endorses.
And all this crazy chaos, Perez Hilton jumped in to share that if he got the money these tea companies give the celebrities, even he would readily endorse them.
But Jamil had the last word and encouraged celebrities and influencers to not sell products that can physically harm their followers. Many of whom, have blind faith in these social media stars.
While Jamil’s Twitter fight (her own version of a Jameela Jamil interview) may have come late, in fact, after years of such products being sold by influencers, it is a step in the right direction. Mental illnesses associated with weight and body positivity are very real and serious problems. And, social media with its ‘perfect model-like influencers’ only adds to the trauma of those suffering.
If you are an influencer, it is your responsibility to start a discussion on mental health and body positivity. It is 2018! Let’s be more woke.
