How To Shave Your Legs Like A Total Professional

Learning how to shave your legs correctly not only keeps all those cuts and scrapes away, but also gives them some much-needed TLC

Shaving is a hassle for most of us and can sometimes lead to agitated skin and bad scratches. Even with practice, you still might end up scarping your legs. But like most things in life, there is always room to improve. This is where learning how to shave your legscorrectly comes into play.

Scroll down to learn how you can shave your legs like a pro while avoiding skin irritation and ensuring a super-smooth finish.

How To Shave Your Legs Like A Total Pro

1. Soften skin

The very first step is to wet your skin and soften the hair, as you hop into the shower. No more shaving with dry skin, as the chances of scratching your own skin will be high and this can result in a rough and coarse texture. Be smart and wet your skin first before shaving.

2. Do it last

Make sure to shave at the last stage while showering. And do this using your hair and body products. Your soft skin will thank you, plus, its a crucial step if you’re still learning how to shave your legs.

3. Exfoliate

If you want a smooth, easy shave, make sure you exfoliate so that you can penetrate deep into the roots of your hair and provide maximum shave.

4. Lather up

As you shave while your skin is wet, remember to apply a shaving cream or gel to prevent further cuts and scratches during the process.

5. Apply the right products

Do not substitute a shaving cream or gel for a bar soap, or body wash, as you might end up yet again with irritated skin, and ugly cuts.

6. Use a fresh razor

Grab a new razor, and even better, use a disposable razor or one with a disposable blade, as you prepare to replace the razor or blades often. Dump them after five to seven shaves to avoid skin irritation brought on by dull blades.

7. Follow directions

In the process of learning how to shave your legsyou’ll realise that doing it in the direction that your hair grows is the way to go. Shaving in the opposite direction may result in ingrown hairs and skin irritation.

8. Be gentle

Use your fresh razor gently to prevent irritating your skin.

9. Take your time

Slow down as you shave in the showers by multitasking, as you wait out the three to five minutes. Consider applying a hair mask or face mask before shaving and wash it off after.

10. Moisturise

Moisturising post-shave is super critical, so remember to apply a hydrating body lotion or body butter.

11. Store your razor appropriately

Place your razor in an appropriate spot and prevent risking a nasty infection. Best to place in a dry space in an upright position.

12. Have a shaving break

Do not shave your legs daily as it can irritate your skin. Not to worry, your legs will stay smooth even if you shave every other day.
