Adulting is hard and some days are tougher than others. While its already quite the challenge to deal with everyday real-life problems, its another arduous task to battle with your own mind. This often brings your down and you are left wondering– how to feel happy again. 

The good news is that while it takes time, positive affirmations and positive thinking does work. Every time you surround your mind with optimistic thoughts, your brain thinks that’s how you are. In a way, you are what you think. So for starters, think pragmatically. And yes, its easier said than done, but its a good starting point.

1. Keep Going And Don’t Look Back 

No matter what task you might be doing, remember that extenuating circumstances are always temporary. They may rattle you for a bit at first, but they will eventually fizzle out. So don’t get bogged down by these circumstances. Instead, you’ll gain more clarity as you keep working and doing what you do best and surrounding yourself with positivity. And, this too shall pass. 

2. Have Faith In Yourself 

Sometimes when you don’t feel so good about yourself, its still important to feel good about yourself. Yes, that’s right. Believe in yourself and your ability to get through any challenge life throws at you. You’ll only grow from this experience. You’ll notice that your answers lie inside of you and when you faith in yourself and work with patience, you’ll be able to know how to feel happy again. 

3. Learn To Love Life 

It’s always easier said than done, but its not impossible to achieve. When life throws you challenges and you wonder how to feel happy again, the best way to get through is to truth that challenges are part of life. When you feel bogged down, you do that yourself. Nobody is coming at you to destroy your life. So the best way to get away from the negativity is to focus on the positive and work with the opportunities you’ve got. 

4. Don’t Let Overthinking Ruin Your Day

Keep a tab on your thoughts, sometimes they are the real culprits in keeping you from feeling happy and content. Yes, your thoughts will never be a 100 percent positive. But you should try to dismiss negative thoughts and stay open to newer ideas and suggestions. Work on your thoughts, organise them and quell any negative thoughts that may pester you. 

5. Conjure Up All The Strength You Have 

Its easy to fall prey to negativity and give in. But it takes a lot of effort to get back onto your feet, but its not an impossible task. Our mind is so powerful that if it can make you feel bad, it can also help you learn how to feel happy again. Always remember that you have survived worse or can do, it’s only a matter of time and space. 

6. Love Yourself

Self love is the best kind of love. You won’t be the same person you are today, forever. You’re going to change with time and with more interactions, you’ll learn new things. But at every stage, if you learn to accept yourself as you are and not as how others want you to be, chances are you’re going to automatically learn how to feel happy again. 

7. Don’t Expect Too Much 

Expectations are often met with disappointments. As Buddha once said, “Do everything with a good heart and expect nothing in return, and you will never be disappointed.” And while desire is a powerful tool of motivation, expecting too much of something can be expensive and sometimes painful. So seek what you desire, but maintain your dignity and you’ll know how to feel happy.
