Some girls just have it all, eh?
As if it wasn't enough that these female celebrities are gorgeous, sexy, and successful, they've also got a few tricks up their sleeves. Here are just some Asian celebrities who can paint, draw, and more.
8 Female Asian Celebrities Who Can Paint, Draw, And More
1. Solenn Heussaff
Solenn is a woman of many talents. Not only is she a model and actress, she is a professional makeup artist who can also sing and paint. She dabbled in all sorts of art forms as a kid, taking classes in everything from tapestry to pottery to painting until she was 18. "I love painting just for me, it's the part of the day where it can just be myself in front of a blank canvas. No one's gonna tell me if it's nice or ugly, because art is subjective, so what is beautiful to me probably isn't to someone else. And I also love the way that people interpret it different ways," Solenn told Rappler in 2016.
2. Lucy Liu
Yes, your favourite Charlie's Angel can make damn good art too. Lucy has been making abstract art all her life, but in 2004, she moved back to New York to study art and create in her own live-in studio. "I started creating art when I was much younger," she told Asia Society in 2015. "When I was 12 to 16, I was just working on collages and it was just for my own amusement and it was a nice outlet for me. After I graduated from college, I started taking it more seriously.
3. Seulgi Kang
One of Red Velvet's main vocalists and lead dancers, not many know that Seulgi has a hidden talent: sketching. She has several sketchbooks filled with her drawings, many of them using pointillism.
4. Heart Evangelista
Filipina celebrity Heart is most known for her acting and hosting work as well as her style, but a few years ago, she revealed that she also paints. And she doesn't just paint on canvas — Heart is known for painting on uber-expensive luxury bags, particularly Birkins.
5. Vivian Chow
When Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer and actress Vivian Chow went on a hiatus around 1998 to pursue her other interests, she threw herself into painting, writing, and playing pool. And she did pretty well for herself, with her paintings winning her several awards. Since then, she's returned to the entertainment industry and doesn't seem to have that much time for painting, but it's cool to know that she has many other talents besides what she's known for.
6. Suzy Bae
South Korean singer and actress Suzy has a busy schedule, so she probably doesn't have a lot of time to hone her other talents, but nonetheless, she's a pretty decent artist! Here's a rare appearance of one of her drawings from Instagram — a sketch of Ian Somerhalder.
7. Bangs Garcia
Filipina actress Bangs Garcia only started painting in 2011, but by 2015, she was already selling her paintings for as high as PHP380,000 (~US$7,100)! Since moving to the UK and becoming a parent, her art has been pushed to the side, but she hopes to get back to it as she adjusts to motherhood. "I hope I could start painting again soon when I am completely ready," she wrote in one Instagram caption. "At the moment, I am very much inspired and happily dedicating myself to my baby and my husband."
8. Jae-kyung Kim
K-pop fans probably know Jae-kyung from her stint as the leader of the girl group Rainbow. Now, Jae-kyung is an actress and TV personality, and with her K-pop idol days behind her, she has enough time to pursue her other passions. Jae-kyung really likes working with her hands, so her Instagram followers often see her drawing, working with leather and ceramics, knitting, and even building furniture.
