Why The Heck Did Beyonce And Jay-Z "Bow Down" To Meghan Markle At The Brit Awards?
Yes, the Queen B just bowed down to The Duchess of Sussex.
So at the recently concluded Brit Awards, Beyonce and Jay-Z were given the award for Best International Group. Though the couple couldn't make it to the ceremony, they did film a very interesting video accepting the award. Scroll on to read more about Beyonce and Meghan Markle.
In the video, the power couple are seen in front of a portrait of Meghan Markle as Mona Lisa, referencing their video for "Apeshit", where they posed in front of the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris. Beyonce thanks the Brits for always being "very supportive".
"Everything is love," she says. "Thank you."
Jay-Z then responds with tongue-in-cheek "you're welcome" before the two turn around to face the portrait of Meghan.

The meaning of this gesture may be lost on some of you out there, but Beyonce pretty much explained it in an Instagram caption.
"In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas," she wrote. "Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy."

Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova. ?? In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.
Many of Beyonce's fans saw this gesture as an act of solidarity towards Meghan, who some feel has been the subject of too many nasty tabloid rumors.
Listen yeah, do you even UNDERSTAND how important Beyoncé’s and Jay’s statement was? They snubbed the Grammy’s yet filmed something for the Brits to honour Meghan Markle as an act of solidarity as she faces the most blatant misogynoir.

Wow at Beyonce and Jay-Z not only making an acceptance video, but doing so in front of a portrait of Meghan Markle. Very classy, pointed support of a black woman being treated repulsively by the UK tabloids #BRITs
