These Pinoy Makeup Artists Are Changing The World Of Beauty One Brush Stroke At A Time
These artistas are hands down the best makeup artists in Philippines and changing the face of beauty one brush stroke at a time.
Let's get real ladies, none of your favourite artistas "wake up like this!" It takes an entire village to help them look as flawless as they do on the big screen. This team of indispensable people include their managers, stylists, and some of the best makeup artists in Philippines.
Interestingly, the best makeup artists in Philippines are unlike the usual beauty gurus I watch online.
Their talent lies in their technique and they treat makeup as an art, which is probably why these Pinoy celebrities always look like a freaking work of art!
So we snooped around Instagram and found the best makeup artists behind the faces of these Pinoy celebrities. Here’s what we found out.
Jelly Eugenio is one of the one the best makeup artists in Philippines who made the "drunk blush" look viral in the Philippine beauty community.
In fact, he uses red and pink tones and blushes a lot. His top-notch client? None other than Nadine Lustre.
Denise Go-Ochoa is the pioneer of the natural makeup look here in the Philippines with a clientele that ranges from teen-queen Kathryn Bernardo to pop star Sarah Geronimo.
She believes that the best canvas is flawless, moisturised skin and uses mostly Fresh and Burt’s Bees products on her clients as she said in her "Be A Force of Nature" interview back on March 23,2018 with Burt's Bees. If she can make skin look like it doesn’t have foundation, she will do it.
Lala Flores’ work as a makeup artist has been hailed for countless techniques. But one thing we can all notice is her signature eye makeup. She lines both top and bottom lash lines and extends the inner and out eye shape making it look like a piercing cat eye.
Her clients include Iza Calzado, Jodi Sta Maria., Julia Barretto, and Maine Mendoza.
Gary Penaso is the makeup artist behind Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach herself. Although we strongly believe his signature style relies on his sultry, warm eyeshadow looks, we also think he has a penchant for thick, statement brows.
His go-to brand you ask? MAC all the way.
Memay might not have the online following other celebrity makeup artists have, but she’s backed-up by beauty and fashion icons like the gorgeous Heart Evangelista.
Her signature style is all about the glow and dew from the brow bone down to the collarbone.
Ting Duque is an all-rounder who swears by Tom Ford products. Whether you want a bare, all-natural look or a glammed-up red carpet look she will deliver. She has made Bea Alonzo, Sanya Lopez, Charo Santos-Concio, and Janine Gutierrez look absolutely gorgeous.
We particularly love her bronzed-out skin makeup looks and as per her Instagram posts, she supports brands such as Sisley, Tom Ford, Make Up For Ever, and NARS.
Jigs is one heck of a success story. Did you know he used to be a flight attendant? But that career didn’t stop him from pursuing his dreams and today he is regarded as one of the best makeup artists in the Philippines because of his variety of work.
His style is all about that striking strobe of highlight on the cheeks as seen in his clients such as Erich Gonzales, Teacher Georcelle, and Angelica Panganiban. As per his interview on preview.ph, he loves using the Clarisonic Mia 2 to make sure the skin is cleansed and prepped for a good base makeup. We're obsessed!
Want cheeks than can cut? Then Raymond is your guy. I call him the contour god of the makeup world. He doesn’t skip on his bronzers and contour powders that’s for sure. Especially, for client Anne Curtis’ daily show on TV called Show Time.
But that's not his only famous client. He has also made Solenn Heussaff and Liza Soberano look like a million bucks.
The queen of all media Kris Aquino didn’t hail RB Chanco as her all-time favorite makeup artist for nothing. As a (past) MAC fan, we totally agree with Kris (who wouldn't, right?).
RB’s work on both men and women are stunning. Aside from a flawless base, what we love most about her looks are the perfectly contoured noses. As per her Instagram post, she personally swears by La Mer’s cooling eye gel.
Albert’s signature look might just be all about the winged eyeliner and luscious lashes. But let's be honest, it really completes a look, doesn’t it?
He has made the faces of Alexa Ilacad, Heart Evangelista, Toni Gonzaga, Lovi Poe, Bela Padilla, and Kim Chiu look like a million bucks. And we now know that they didn't wake up like this!
Anthea Bueno’s rise was undeniably fast. Her secret? Sun-kissed skin. People loved seeing celebrities all bronzed-out and (seemingly) summer-ready all the time. We particularly love her work on young celebrities such as Leila Alcasid, Chie Filomeno, Kelsey Merrit, and Ylona Garcia.
By the way, she also uses coral and peachy blush to top off the sun-kissed look, which is always picture-perfect!
PS: According to preview.ph, the first base product she bought for her kits was MAC Cosmetics' Face and Body Foundation.
Of course, we can’t miss the lead makeup artist of Laura Mercier, MK Qua. Aside from seeing his gorgeous toned body on Instagram, his makeup looks are also envy-worthy. His work is the epitome of perfection, with lashes curled to the gods and skin that’s strobed out of this world.
However, I am a bit biased because he doesn’t shy away from using bold lip colours. Celebrities such as Mariel Padilla, Elisse Joson, and Kylie Versoza love his work as well.
Mickey’s muses including Liza Soberano, Pauleen Luna, Kira Balinger, and Maja Salvador always look sultry AF.
We investigated further and finally uncovered his secret. He extends the crease colour up to the brow bone resulting in a really sultry eye look. By his own admission See uses Anatasia Beverly Hills, RMK, Hourglass, and sometimes even Maybelline as per his interviews.
All said and done, these men and women are undoubtedly the best makeup artists in the Philippines and their techniques are as unique as their clients. If you aspire to become one of them, this is the time to follow them and learn from their innovative makeup tricks.
