"Marc Jacobs, who is a designer that fits in the established world of American fashion, is so fearless in his approach, which was all about sculpture and volumes, and his own romantic gestures like feathers and sequins," Wintour said, reflecting on the considered, yet bold approach to the collection, including the wonderful capes and coats.
2. It's All About The Woman

"A new sense of volume, big “exploded shoulders”, sloping shoulders, and a mood that was much more discreet. It’s about the woman rather than what she’s necessarily wearing, as well as a lot of layering of the pants,” said Anna Wintour on NYFW.
3. Diversity And Body Positivity

"We do now have a whole brilliant generation of younger designers that are completely fearless in their approach to even the idea of the fashion show. They embrace inclusivity, and they embrace diversity, and body positivity. They are putting their friends in their clothes, they are using a wonderful mix of characters and models and people that would not necessarily associate with modeling on the runway," said Anna Wintour on NYFW.
"It is much more about individual expression and celebrating inclusivity, and I think that New York has really been at the forefront of that. Because the reach is so enormous today, I think the idea of what is beautiful and who can show clothes, who can wear clothes, who can express a designer’s point of view has so changed,” the fashion visionary added.
4. Interesting Proportions

"I'll also like to particularly mention The Row because that is done with so much interesting proportion and wonderful reclaim, and in a season where so many designers were embracing these amazing colour mixes, they were very refined, very minimal, very black and white," said Anna Wintour on NYFW.
5. Sleek And Tailored

"Tom Ford had brilliantly kicked off the week with a collection that played to all his strengths- fantastic tailoring, very sleek, much of it in surprising, beautiful colours," added Anna Wintour on NYFW.
